Early Childhood Center

Exploration & Care

Our Early Childhood Center, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, is designed to foster student exploration, teacher care, creative spaces and the relationships formed within them.

The incredible ability to wonder

Imagine a place where children have the ability to express themselves in many ways. The founder of the Reggio Approach, Loris Malaguzzi, highlights the limitless ways in which children can express, explore, and connect their thoughts, feelings, and imaginings.

The Hundred Languages of Children serves as the foundation of this educational approach, representing the boundless potential in children to express, create, think, and learn. It is a testament to our belief in the incredible ability of children to wonder.

Our learners are empowered by choice as they engage with teachers, peers, parents, and the environment around them.

What Makes Us Unique

Open Communication with Teachers

Which includes opportunities for chats during student drop-off or pick-up times, connecting virtually via Toddle, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and participating in Project Presentations.

Small Class Sizes

Our small class sizes ensure close interaction between teachers and students, seamless teacher-parent communication and personalized opportunities and experiences that focus on each student's strengths.

Envirnoment as a Third Teacher

With a covered playground, forest areas, a forest playground, a water stream, a bike track and ample outdoor space, our students are encouraged to explore and play in environments that are conducive to learning.

Reggio Emilia-Trained Teachers

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which focuses on child-led, inquiry-based learning. This pedagogical method aligns perfectly with the guidelines of Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) for early childhood education, providing a holistic educational experience for our students.

Furthermore, all ECC teachers have undergone specialized training in Reggio Emilia, Italy, immersing themselves in its innovative educational approach.

Daily School-Home Communication

ECC promotes daily school-home communication through Toddle, ISC’s teaching and learning platform. Additionally, open communication with teachers is facilitated during student arrivals or departures.

Parents also receive two detailed Progress Reports each school year to stay informed about their child’s development, academic journey, and progress.

ISC Academy (After School Activities)

ISC provides the following after-school activities at no additional cost: Soccer, Design Thinking, Playtime, Creativity, Chess, and Performing Arts Workshop.

Paid activities include Ballet, Circus, Judo, French, and Gymnastics.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences happen twice a year, in April and October. During these meetings, teachers engage with each family individually to discuss their child’s academic progress, social development, and well-being. It’s a valuable opportunity for parents and educators to collaborate closely in supporting the growth and success of every student.
