Welcoming Dr. Emilija Stojanovski to Our School Community!

Reading time: 3 minutes.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Emilija Stojanovski (pronounced Emilia) to our international school community. With extensive experience in international education and school leadership across Europe, China, Singapore, and Dubai, Dr. Emilija brings a global perspective and a strong commitment to supporting students, staff, and families.

Originally from Macedonia, in Southern Europe, she began her career as an English teacher and holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English Language, Literature, and Linguistics. She later completed her Doctorate in the United States, building on her passion for educational leadership and creating meaningful learning experiences.

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Emilija has continued to grow throughout her career, expanding her expertise through studies in Data Science and Executive Leadership at IE University. We are excited for our community to benefit from her experience, leadership, and dedication to educational excellence.

Dr. Emilija Stojavoski, Elementary School Principal

Q: Looking back on your career journey, what was it that originally drew you into educational leadership?   Dr. Emilija: I noticed that when you work with people, you can have a much greater impact outside of the classroom. I really became passionate about serving others and supporting them to reach their goals.

Q: You’ve continued to expand your education over the years. What drives that desire to keep learning?   Dr. Emilija: I like doing all of these things because I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. I just love that continuous process of growing and exploring new fields.

Q: When you’re not focused on school leadership, how do you like to spend your personal time?   Dr. Emilija: I think it’s so important to have hobbies because they let you explore the world and do things you truly enjoy. One of my main passions is reading. I also love cooking and baking. While I can’t claim to be a master chef, I love experimenting with different dishes from around the world! Beyond that, I love spending time out in nature, and I look forward to doing more of that here.

Q: As we look ahead to the new school year on campus, what are you most excited about? Dr. Emilija: We have a wonderful new campus and a fantastic new home for our whole school community! I’m really looking forward to welcoming everyone back—our staff, our parents, and especially our students. We often talk about connection—connection to learning, connection to people and connection to nature. I hope everyone feels that special sense of connection the moment they step back onto campus. We can’t wait to have you here!
